Before you decide what comes next.

D. GOLDENBERG FRÈRES ET CIE works with owners, families, businesses and institutions facing consequential property, ownership and commercial decisions.

We help clarify the alternatives, prepare the chosen course and coordinate the appropriate professionals within a defined engagement.

Our starting point is the client's situation — not an assumed transaction.

You do not need to have decided on a transaction to approach the House.

Two practices, one House

One standard of judgment, preparation and stewardship.

The House is encountered before a client necessarily knows which route to pursue. The situation, not a service catalogue, decides where the work belongs.

Private Clients

Residence and ownership decisions often begin before there is a transaction.

We help principals understand the situation, clarify the alternatives, prepare the chosen course and coordinate the appropriate professionals while maintaining continuity across the matter.

An owner may be considering keeping, adapting, transferring, selling, acquiring, restructuring ownership, or doing nothing for the time being. Each is a legitimate position.

Business & Real Assets

Selected matters require evidence, structure and coordinated execution before an external process can responsibly begin.

We help establish the matter, organise the relevant information, identify unresolved conditions and coordinate the institutions and professionals required for the agreed course.

Businesses, ownership positions, commercial and investment property, real assets, claims and structurally complicated commercial situations may all be brought to the House. No transaction is assumed at the outset.

Business & Real Assets

These two practices belong to the same House and remain recognisably different. Private-client matters feel residential; commercial matters feel structural. Both follow the same standard.

The Standard of the House

Four standards hold before any course is taken.

  1. I

    Reality before narrative

What is established is separated from what is assumed. A matter begins with the situation as it can actually be understood — not with the story someone hopes to tell about it.

  2. II

    Evidence before conclusion

Judgment follows the available record. Sources, uncertainty and unresolved questions remain visible until they are resolved or expressly accepted.

  3. III

    Responsibility before authority

Before action is coordinated, the House establishes who may decide, who may instruct and which responsibilities belong to the House or to separately appointed professionals.

  4. IV

    Judgment before execution

The question is not merely whether action is possible, but whether the proposed course is justified and sufficiently prepared to proceed.

Judgment determines the course. Preparation makes the course possible. Stewardship carries the responsibility through.

What the work puts in place

A defined engagement produces something you can hold.

Depending on the engagement, the work may put in place:

  • an agreed brief
  • organised evidence
  • identified uncertainties
  • an options assessment
  • a preparation plan
  • professional responsibilities
  • decision records
  • outstanding conditions
  • agreed next steps

No particular output is promised for every engagement. What the House is asked to do is agreed in writing before work begins.

The House

Where the decision begins, not merely where a sale happens.

The House exists so that a consequential decision is not divided among separate advisers before the underlying situation has been understood. Judgment, preparation and stewardship are held together, and responsibilities are defined in writing.

About the House

How We Work

The same eight questions apply whether the matter is a residence or a commercial one: what is happening, who may act, what is known, what is available, what must be resolved, who is required, what must stay aligned, and what remains afterwards.

Perspectives

Selected writing on ownership, property, capital, transaction preparation, stewardship and institutional questions. It is kept deliberately small and is not a publishing programme.

Begin a Conversation

A quiet room is prepared before the conversation begins.

You do not need to know which practice or route is appropriate before contacting the House. Briefly describe the situation, your relationship to it and what you are considering.

Initial conversations are received personally by Dawid Solomon Goldenberg.
